- Current Events of National and International Importance.
- History of India and Indian National Movement.
- Indian and World Geography-Physical, Social Economic Geography of India and the World
- Indian Polity and Governance-Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Rights Issues, etc.
- Economic and Social Development-Sustainable Development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demographics, Social Sector Initiatives, etc.
- General issues on Environment ecology, Bio-diversity and Climate Change – that do not require subject specialization.
- General Science.
Paper -II (200 marks)
- Comprehension; Interpersonal Skills including Communication Skills.
- Logical Reasoning and Analytical Ability.
- Decision Making and Problem Solving.
- General Mental Ability.
- basic Numeracy (Numbers and their Relations, Order of Magnitude, etc.) (Class X level).
- Data Interpretation (charts, graphs, graphs, tables, data sufficiency etc.- Class X level).
Analysis of CSE Prelims Previous Years Papers
The proportion in which question are going to be asked from the different sections of the syllabus in the
General Studies paper is not fixed. Generally, more questions were asked from History, Polity,
Environment and Ecology, Economics and Geography , but 2016 witnessed an overhaul in this pattern.
This tendency of change of pattern was apparent in the 2019 paper as well. Thus, the proportional
distribution of question is something which is very uncertain. The following table can help you known
the proportion of questions asked from various sections from 2013 to 2020.
